Goa: Continuing his annual tradition of celebrating Diwali with the nation’s armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent this year’s festival aboard INS Vikrant, India’s indigenous aircraft carrier, alongside brave Indian Navy personnel.
The warship was decked out in festive lights as patriotic songs and joyous cheers filled the air.
Addressing the naval officers and sailors, Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings to the nation:
“I extend my warm Diwali wishes to all Indians. It is my privilege to celebrate this festival with our Navy personnel. On one side, I see the vast ocean, and on the other, the strength and courage of India’s brave sons and daughters. This is a truly unforgettable moment,” he said.
He added:
“It is my good fortune to celebrate Diwali with the courageous warriors of the Indian Navy. The love of our soldiers for the nation is what powers our ships and aircraft. The sunlight sparkling on the sea looks like Diwali lamps lit by our brave sailors.”
The Prime Minister also praised the valiant efforts of India’s armed forces during Operation Sindhur, calling it a shining example of coordination and bravery:

“The joint operation of the Navy and the Air Force compelled Pakistan to surrender swiftly. The night I spent aboard INS Vikrant was beyond words. The enthusiasm, energy, and patriotism I witnessed among you were truly inspiring,” he said.
Photographs of PM Modi celebrating Diwali with naval officers on INS Vikrant have gone viral across social media, symbolizing the spirit of unity, courage, and national pride.
