PM Modi Congratulates Donald Trump on Historic Gaza Peace Deal; Hopes for Lasting Peace

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he had a “warm and productive” phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which he congratulated Trump on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan.

In his remarks, Modi stated:

“Spoke to my friend, President Trump, and congratulated him on the success of the historic Gaza peace plan. Also reviewed the good progress achieved in trade negotiations. Agreed to stay in close touch over the coming weeks.”

According to diplomatic sources, the conversation highlighted the importance of the peace plan in ensuring regional stability, humanitarian relief, and continued cooperation between India and the United States.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic and strategic ties, and expressed optimism about the next phase of trade discussions.

The Gaza peace framework—hailed as a major diplomatic milestone—includes a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, hostage release, and Israeli troop withdrawal, marking a key step toward long-term peace in the Middle East.
