Chennai: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that service charges related to Aadhaar will be revised from October 1, 2025.

According to the new notification, the fee for updating Aadhaar details such as name or address will increase from ₹50 to ₹75. Similarly, for biometric updates, the charge will go up from ₹100 to ₹125.

Aadhaar cards, which serve as a crucial proof of identity for Indian citizens, are widely used for banking services, opening new accounts, availing government welfare schemes, and for various official purposes.

Officials clarified that there will be no charges for applying for a new Aadhaar card. The revised fee structure will remain in effect until September 30, 2028.

The UIDAI’s update aims to standardize service costs while ensuring smooth functioning of Aadhaar centers across the country. Citizens have been advised to take note of these changes in advance.
