On Monday (September 23), gold prices had surged sharply. In the morning session, the rate rose by ₹70 per gram to ₹10,500, pushing the price to ₹84,000 per sovereign. Later in the day, another steep rise was recorded, with prices jumping ₹140 per gram to ₹10,640, taking the sovereign price to a record ₹85,120.
After such rapid gains in recent days, today’s marginal decline has brought some relief to jewellers and buyers. However, experts caution that international market trends and currency fluctuations could continue to drive volatility in gold prices in the coming days.
