Chennai, September 23:
In a record-breaking development, the price of gold in Tamil Nadu has reached an unprecedented high today. A sovereign (8 grams) of 22-Karat ornamental gold is being sold at ₹84,000, marking an increase of ₹560 compared to the previous day.

On September 20, the price of gold stood at ₹10,290 per gram and ₹82,320 per sovereign. By September 22, prices had climbed further, with gold trading at ₹10,360 per gram and ₹82,880 per sovereign, an increase of ₹70 per gram and ₹560 per sovereign. Silver prices also rose by ₹3, reaching ₹148 per gram.

Today (Sept. 23), gold prices surged again, pushing 22-Karat ornamental gold to ₹10,500 per gram and ₹84,000 per sovereign, the highest price ever recorded in the state.Market analysts attribute this continuous rise to increased international investments in gold. Additionally, global discussions suggest that the recent hike in H1B visa fees announced by the U.S. President may have indirectly contributed to the surge in gold demand.  With gold prices touching new highs, buyers are closely watching whether the trend will continue upward or show signs of cooling in the coming days.
