1. Visit the Official Portal
Navigate to https://epass.tnega.org to begin your application.

2. Log In and Authenticate
If you’re applying from within India, enter your mobile number and captcha. An OTP will be sent—enter it and submit.
Foreign visitors can log in using their email address.
3. Choose Destination
Select Ooty (Nilgiris) or Kodaikanal depending on your destination.

4. Fill Out the Application Form
Provide required details such as:
Name and permanent address
Vehicle registration number, type of vehicle, fuel type
Number of passengers
Purpose of visit and travel dates
Accommodation details (with proof)

5. Submit and Confirm
Click Submit. You’ll then see the terms and rules for travel; review them, then Confirm to finalize your application.
6. Download or Screenshot Your E-Pass
Once your e-pass is issued instantly, you can download it as a PDF or capture a screenshot of the confirmation page. Present this e-pass at the checkpoint when entering Ooty.
Important Details to Remember
Vehicle Caps: From April to June, vehicle entries are limited (6,000 weekdays; 8,000 weekends in Ooty) as per Madras High Court directive.
Exemptions: Public transport users, locals, and essential vehicles may be exempt from the e-pass requirement.
Apply Early: To avoid last-minute slot shortages, apply at least 48 hours ahead of your travel date.
- Penalty for No Pass: Entering without a valid e-pass may result in fines or denial of entry.
