New Delhi:
Operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi were disrupted today as heavy rain lashed the national capital, forcing 15 flights to be diverted to nearby airports.
According to airport officials, the affected flights were rerouted to Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad, following poor visibility and waterlogging on taxiways. Both domestic and international services experienced delays.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Delhi witnessed intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds, leading to traffic congestion and flooding in several parts of the city.
Airlines have advised passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport. Ground staff and authorities are working to restore normal operations as weather conditions improve.
