New Delhi: Actress Aishwarya Rai has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, seeking to prevent the unauthorized use of her photographs and likeness.

According to the petition, several companies and online platforms have allegedly been using her images for advertising and product promotions without obtaining prior consent. She argued that this violates her privacy and publicity rights. The actress also raised concerns that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are being misused to create obscene images and videos resembling her, which are being circulated online. Some individuals are even said to be profiting by distributing such manipulated content.

Her lawyer stated in the petition that no one has the right to commercially exploit her identity or misuse her name and photos for personal or sexual motives, calling it “deeply unfortunate.”

The petition lists websites selling wallpapers with her photos and YouTube channels allegedly involved in creating AI-generated content. Justice Tejas Karia, who heard the matter, indicated that an interim order may be issued to warn the respondents. The case is scheduled for the next proceedings on November 7 before the Joint Registrar, with a full hearing expected on January 15.
