The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Warning for Mumbai and surrounding districts, cautioning residents about intense spells of heavy rainfall likely to lash the city until 10:00 PM IST today.

According to the forecast, Mumbai will experience heavy showers accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph. The IMD has warned that the downpour may trigger localized flooding, waterlogging, and traffic disruptions across the city.

The weather warning also extends to Mumbai Suburban, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Thane, Pune, and Nandurbar districts. Officials have urged citizens to follow State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) guidelines and avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary.
